MPC receives National Recognition from Canadian Manufacturing Sector

When COVID-19 struck in early March, industry was called upon to join the fight against the pandemic and offer support through the creation of PPE, sanitizers, ventilators and other innovative devices, Canadian manufacturers quickly pivoted to produce products that would help stem the spread of the virus and their efforts deserve to be recognized.
At the Responding to COVID-19: Industry Leadership Honours virtual gala hosted today, Molded Precision Components were confirmed as the award recipient of the Personal Protective Equipment – Medium Sized company category.
Keynoted by Minister Navdeep Bains and Jayson Myers, CEO of Next Generation Manufacturing (NGen) Canada, the gala hosted by Canadian Manufacturing Magazine recognized eight Canadian manufacturers, the award for MPC being accepted by David Yeaman, co-owner and President of MPC and the assembled management team.
“We are very proud and delighted to be recognized on a National platform for our response to the Covid-19 Pandemic” said David Yeaman President and Co-owner of MPC. “Canada is home to many agile, innovative and world-class manufacturing businesses and it was great to share in the recognition of these, let alone receive the award. Molded Precision Components are extremely proud to be recognized by the manufacturing community across Canada for our contribution in collaboration with Sterling Industries, to deliver efficient mass production of the Shield-U face shield. Our comfortable, high quality, Class 1 Medical Approved face shield has and will continue to protect frontline workers across the country and further developed our capabilities as a Canadian manufacturer.”
None of this would have been possible without the “family” of employees and over 100 summer support workers at MPC. By the end of September MPC will have shipped over 27 Million face shields to Sterling for final assembly and onward across Canada. The tooling and manufacturing systems that were developed in record time have the ongoing capacity to manufacture up to 450,000 parts per day, or over 100 Million Shields annually.
